War Memorial of Korea

This is the world largest war memorial displaying more than 8,000 war relics and weapons used from ancient times to today.

The Korean War began on June 25, 1950 and ended with a truce on July 27, 1953, although no official peace treaty was ever signed. What started as a civil war soon escalated into a multinational conflict when the Soviet Military and the People's Volunteer Army of China supported North Korea; and the United Nations supported South Korea.

The Korean War is sometimes known as "The Forgotten War” because of the importance of World War II and the Vietnam War in the minds of Americans.
